Poker is a card game that is played in many forms around the world. The objective of the game is to win a pot of money by matching a bet with an opponent’s bet, raising it, or giving it away. The word “poker” comes from the French word poque, which was used in the 17th century. It was later adopted by Germans and eventually reached the New World.
